Thinking about a replay at the moment and then I thought to myself I'm sure at the end I had items in my inventory that I never used.
Are some of the items "red herrings" or can they all be used? Anybody know?

well, the needle has use ( afaik ).
The little red ball has no practical use either, but you can show it to the student in the bib where you find the ball.
